Dr. Roger D. Blevins, PharmD
Dr. Blevins is former CEO of Medco Research, Inc. (formerly NYSE:MRE), credited with the successful development of adenosine, both as an anti-arrhythmic agent (Adenocard® - FDA approved in 1989) and as an adjunct to cardiac imaging (Adenoscan® - FDA approved in 1995). More recently, Dr. Blevins was founding CEO of Xsira Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (formerly Norak Biosciences, Inc.), a private, venture-backed biotechnology company founded in 2000.
Prior to serving in industry, Dr. Blevins was a cardiovascular researcher at Sinai Hospital, Detroit, MI (1982-1988). He received his bachelors and doctorate degrees in pharmacy from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan.
